ABOUT
A quiet interface for
Learn how the cast is calculated, where your question and the hexagram result live, and where the content comes from.
A modern reflective tool
This site offers original modern reflection content. It is not a translation of the Judgment or line texts, and it does not claim to represent an expert or a traditional institution. It treats the hexagram structure as an interface for focusing attention, phrasing questions, and reviewing action.
Random entry, deterministic calculation
Casting begins with random coin outcomes. Once all six throws are set, yin-yang lines, moving lines, and the relating hexagram are calculated by explicit rules. You can revisit the same result and read the coin guide to understand each step.
Collect less, give you a choice
No account is required; questions and casts can be anonymous. The site uses Google Analytics to understand which guides help, and you can refuse analytics. Use the feedback entry to tell us what needs improvement; see the privacy page for details.
Sources and revision
The trigram natural images and yin-yang diagram are checked against Kenyon College's cosmology material (page 2) and a Metropolitan Museum of Art collection note; modern practice is informed by Online Clarity's beginner interpretation guide. We link to these sources rather than reproducing them, and revise pages when wording or rules are unclear or inconsistent.
